Blue Jays 5 Athletics 1

The A's brought up top pitching prospect Gio Gonzalez for Wednesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Gonzales pitched well allowing four runs on four hits in six innings pitched. Oakland lost the game 5 to 1, and now has dropped 18 of their last 20 games. Oakland catcher Kurt Suzuki on the Gonzalez's debut, "The guy is 22 years old, and the sky's the limit for a guy like that. He works hard and competes when he's out there. That's all you can ask for from a young guy."
Mark Ellis was 0 for 3.
