The Oakland A's used home runs by Mark Ellis, Jack Cust, and Kurt Suzuki to beat the Chicago White Sox on Friday night 6 to 4. After the game Suzuki talked about wanting to get the game over without going into extra innings, "We have a day game tomorrow, we didn't want to play extra innings." The Sox had 19 hits in the game but the A's amazingly held them to only four runs.
Mark Ellis hit his 11 home run of the year with two outs in the eighth. He was 1 for 4 with an rbi and a run scored.
