Texas scores eight in ninth, win big

The Oakland A's looked comfortable early in the first game of the series with the Texas Rangers Friday night, scoring five runs in the bottom of the third inning. Not to be out done, the Texas Rangers scored five runs in the top of the fourth led by a two run home run by Josh Hamilton. Texas went on toe score fourteen runs on nineteen hits, including an eight run top of the ninth. The end of the game prompted comment from Oakland manager Bob Geren "Obviously, it was an ugly finish."
Second baseman Mark Ellis returned to the line up after missing two games due to an injured shoulder. Ellis was 0 for 4 with two strike outs.
