Brown hits walk off home run in eleventh

Emil Brown hit his 7th home run of the season, giving the Oakland A's a walk off victory in the 11th inning against the Mariners on Thursday night. Brown gave the A's hitting coach Ty Van Burkleo credit for the home run, ''I swung the bat, but Ty got me better prepared for that at-bat than any before. He told me exactly what the guy would do and I kept that in the back of my mind like a game plan. He did exactly what Ty told me he would.''
Greg Smith pitched six shut out innings and Huston Street picked up the victory. Mark Ellis was 0 for 5 for the second straight game dropping his batting average to .239.
